The Wexford at Emerald Greens: A modern Minnesota wedding venue in the south metro

back to blog

If you’re looking for a modern Minnesota wedding venue that’s both elegant and easy to work with, The Wexford at Emerald Greens should be at the top of your list. As a Minnesota wedding photographer, I’m always keeping an eye out for spaces that offer both beauty and functionality—and The Wexford delivers on both. Tucked into the rolling greens of a Hastings golf course, this newer venue brings together high-end aesthetics, functional spaces, and the kind of atmosphere that lets a wedding day breathe. Kristin and Nush’s spring wedding was the perfect example of just how magical this space can be.

A day full of joy, intention, and connection

Kristin and Nush’s wedding in April 2025 was the kind of celebration that reminded me exactly why I love doing this work. Their connection was effortless–warm, playful, and rooted in deep love. Throughout the day, they moved with comfort and care for each other, fully present and soaking in each moment.

They shared a private first look and exchanged personal vows, a quiet pocket of intimacy before the pace of the day picked up. It was one of several emotional moments that set the tone early.

Their reception, on the other hand, was absolutely electric. One of my favorite moments of the night came during dinner when instead of glass-clinking, guests started bringing dollar bills up to the head table to “pay” for a kiss. What started as $1 soon turned into $5, $10, even $50 bills–each one met with increasingly passionate kisses and laughter. The room was lit up and it felt like every guest was part of something shared and special.

Later in the night, Kristin and Nush changed into traditional Liberian attire and re-entered the reception space for a Lapa entrance and Grand March, surrounded by friends and family cheering, dancing, and showering them with dollar bills in celebration. It was a beautiful homage to heritage and a perfect reflection of the energy that carried through the whole day.

Why this modern Minnesota venue works so well

From a photography perspective, The Wexford was an absolute dream to work at. This modern Minnesota wedding venue is full of natural light and features a stunning wall of windows, soaring ceilings, and elegant finishes that allow couples to elevate the space however they want. The ceremony area, just a short walk past the glass-walled balcony, features a peaceful waterfall backdrop and open sky–ideal for an outdoor ceremony that feels both relaxed and elevated.

We were able to keep everyone close by, with family photos taking place right on the balcony. There was even enough space for an outdoor group photo of all the guests–something not every venue can accommodate!

The on-site suites offer great getting-ready options, including a lounge-style room with a poker table and leather seating (perfect for pre-ceremony hangouts). The entire day flowed easily from one moment to the next, and the staff was kind, helpful, and hands-off in the best way–present when needed (even chaufeurring us around in golf carts for some sunset portraits), but never hovering. I’d recommend The Wexford to any couple searching for a modern Minnesota wedding venue that balances beauty and function with warmth and ease.
