IT'S not about
THE PERFECT POSE

DOCUMENTARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER based in Minnesota, traveling anywhere. For couples who want to be FULLY PRESENT.

Attention to the full picture: Not just what’s happening in front of you, but around you, too.

Room to be present: The day is first and foremost a celebration of your love and my plan is never to make your life stop for photos. You’ll have time with each other and your people.

Guidance when it helps: I can step in if direction is useful, and step back when you're doing your thing.

From our first hello to your final gallery, here’s what you can expect when you invite me to document your wedding day.

What Working With Me Looks Like

Artful, relaxed portraits:
A little guidance and plenty of space for classic portraits that feel like you.

Full-day storytelling:
8–10 hours of coverage so the full arc of your day is captured.

Real, unscripted moments:
I document what’s happening naturally in front of me.

Half day collections start at $1,600
Most couples invest around $4,000

No two weddings unfold the same way. Coverage is shaped around how what actually happens, whether that’s something small or a full weekend celebration.

Flexible coverage, built around real days

Rearrange or clean up a space to make things look "perfect"- there is history in the details

Turn your wedding into a photoshoot

Interrupt meaningful moments

Ask you to perform for the camera or tell you how things are "supposed" to be done

As your photographer, I will not:

Photos that reflect what actually happened

An energy-aware presence throughout the day

Direction when it’s helpful, room to breathe when it’s not

Space to be present with your people

What working with me looks like:

No worries–that’s exactly what I’m here for. We’ll talk through your timeline, priorities, and vision for the day and I’ll help you figure out the right amount of coverage to ensure nothing feels rushed or missing. Most couples book 8-10 hours to capture everything from getting ready to the dance floor.

My style is rooted in observation, not orchestration. During portraits, I can give you a bit of guidance if it helps you feel comfortable, but I’m never going to force stiff poses. The rest of the day, I step back and observe while staying close enough to really see what’s happening. I don't want to direct the flow of your day, just tune into it. By being present and paying attention, I’m able to capture images that actually feel like yourselves.

I’ve heard this from many couples and honestly, I understand the stress. I feel the same way being in front of a camera sometimes but I promiisseeee what at first feels awkward will get better. During your engagement session, it usually takes just a few minutes to settle in. On your wedding day, you will likely have plenty else to focus on! I’ll step in with guidance when it’s helpful or to kick things off, but my goal is ultimately to help you feel present with each other—not like you’re performing—so the photos reflect you, not a version of you trying to pose.

I take a primarily documentary/ photojournalistic approach, focusing on observing what's happening rather than directing. I can and do help when needed (family photos, portraits, etc.), but otherwise I’m there to witness and preserve the real moments of your day.

That said, I’m not just lurking in the background. I’ll laugh with your friends, joke with your parents, and show off my (bad) dance moves. I know I'm being invited into such a personal space, and truly believe that the most meaningful images come when I’m welcomed into your circle.

The final number depends on multiple factors: the length of coverage you decided on, the flow of your day, how much "stuff" is actually happening on your wedding day. As an average, you can expect 50+ images per hour of coverage, but I focus on delivering a complete, thoughtful gallery rather than a specific number.

Backing up your images is something I take seriously. I shoot your images to multiple cards in camera on the wedding day. Immediately after your wedding, I back everything up in multiple places–on external hard drives and secure cloud storage. I never delete images from memory cards until I’ve confirmed that every image is safely stored. I also keep your final edited gallery online for at least a year, so you have plenty of time to download and back it up on your end too.

I photograph most weddings solo and am confident documenting everything myself, even with a full guest list. That said, if your timeline or logistics would benefit from having a second perspective–like if you’re getting ready in different locations or want lots of coverage during cocktail hour–I can absolutely bring on a second photographer and have great colleagues I love to work with. We can discuss what makes the most sense for your day together!
